Waiter killed in Parañaque City fire - report


A waiter was killed in a fire that hit a row of eateries at a commercial area in Parañaque City before noon Monday. Radio dzXL said the blaze, which occurred within the Sucat area near the South Luzon Expresswy, started at 10:41 a.m. and reached the third alarm before it was put out at 11:34 a.m.
City fire marshal Superintendent Manuel Manuel initially identified the fatality as Martin Medallada, a waiter in one of the razed establishments. Manuel said Medallada, a stay-in worker at one of the eateries in the area, was found crushed under wood and metal debris. On the other hand, arson investigators recovered from the scene a firearm that appeared to be owned by an agent of the National Bureau of Investigation.
