550 pass Architect Licensure Exams for January 2010


The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced Tuesday that a total of 550 hopefuls passed the January 2010 Architect Licensure Examinations, with graduates of the University of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas, and Mapua Institute of Technology topping the list. Of the 1,092 examinees, Romanuel Abuel Contreras of Mapua topped the exams by scoring 86.80 percent, while David Xander Torres Lacson of UP Diliman came close second with 86 percent. Deniece Sy Yusun of UP Diliman and Franco Lintag Flores of UST bagged third and fourth place after getting 85.40 and 85.20 percent, respectively. Joaquin Generoso Corpuz of UP Diliman, meanwhile, placed fifth with 85 percent. Jumar Taganas Balicao of Pangasinan State University in Urdaneta and Pia Raimonda Ozaeta Maranan of UP Diliman tied at sixth place with 84.70 percent. Placing seventh was Michael Velasco Abuan of UST with 84.60. He was followed by Iris Ina Yolanda Dorol Almazar of UP Diliman with 84.50 percent. Completing the top ten list were Anne Lorraine del Rosario Caban of Mapua with 84.40 percent and Jerold Seng King of UST with 84.10 percent score. The licensure examinations were held in Manila on January 15 and 17, 2010. Followup skeds Meanwhile, the PRC said registration for the issuance of the passers' professional identification card and certificate of registration would start on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 but not later than March 5, 2010. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals, the PRC said. Registrants are required to bring the following: Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, Current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), Two (2) pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag), One (1) piece 1" x 1" picture (colored with white background and complete name tag), Two (2) sets of metered documentary stamps, and One (1) short brown envelope with name and profession; They are also required to pay the initial registration fee of P600 and the annual registration fee of P450 for 2010-2013.
