Eight UP Manila students dominate top ten of pharmacy licensure exams

Eight students from the University of the Philippines-Manila dominated the 10 topnotchers of the Pharmacist Licensure Examination given last month. Francis Sagum Gatbonton ranked first, followed by Bernhard Arris Liam Tan (second), Kathyrine Suelo Sobredo (third), and West Kristian Dizon Paraiso (fourth). Maria Dyna Cortuna Nem and Rhea Xyza Aguilar Villanueva were tied at the fifth place. Coming in at sixth place was Maria Zenaida Sandimas Ancog from the Southwestern University, followed by Gazelle Anne Parafina Maralit from the University of Perpetual Help – Las Piñas. Ethel Andrea Cruz Ladignon of UP-Manila ranked eighth and Lonie Jane Bersabal Padua San Pedro College Davao City ranked ninth. Katrina Zapanta Victorio, the 10th placer, was also from UP-Manila. The Professional Regulation Commission said 481 of the 1091 examinees passed the test given by the Board of Pharmacy in the cities of Manila, Baguio, and Cebu last January 2010.
