80-year-old man marries 19-year-old girl in RP’s Roxas City

In love, age doesn’t matter indeed after an 80-year-old man wed his 19-year-old girlfriend in Roxas City in Capiz province in this month of hearts.

A report on Visayas-based Bombo Radyo said the couple exchanged vows at 9 a.m. last aturday before Father Ted Tanalgo at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish Church.

The groom, identified only as "Lolo Romeo," wore a white barong while his bride, identified only as Juliet, wore an off-white wedding gown.

Lolo Romeo's eldest son and daughter brought him to the altar, while Juliet was escorted by her parents.

Juliet's sister was maid of honor while Romeo's grandson was best man. After the wedding, the newlyweds went to a house built by Romeo for the reception.

The wedding followed opposition by Romeo's children for him to marry a woman a fourth his age, but Romeo persisted.

The newlyweds met at a money changer shop where Juliet worked. Their relationship lasted a year before they decided to tie the knot. - LBG, GMANews.TV
