Crystal power in the Year of the Tiger

I tried to contain my surprise and excitement when my aunt handed me the envelope. I neither expected nor asked for it but there it was in the smooth envelope - a crisp blue bill. Two weeks later, I received another unexpected envelope filled with money. A few days after that, I found some forgotten cash I had tucked inside the pocket of my bag. It seemed money was coming to me from all directions. I was grateful for the surprise blessings, and part of me thought it was all just a coincidence. But I could not help looking at the prosperity crystal bracelet that I had started wearing just a few weeks ago. Did it have anything to do with the sudden flow of unexpected money?

Timeless crystals Looking back, crystals have been deeply embedded in human history, serving various purposes ranging from decorative to medicinal and cosmetic. Ancient Egyptians often used lapis lazuli, carnelian, emerald, turquoise and clear quartz for their bracelets, brooches, and necklaces. Aside from adornment, the gems were believed to help protect them from evil elements. For Greeks, the purple stone amethyst (the word literally means "not intoxicated") was believed to cure alcoholism. They also used hematite as a protective stone; warriors would rub it on their bodies, believing it would make them invincible during battle. The green stone jade is valued among the Chinese because it represents beauty, power, and immortality. It was used to make various ornaments, including a jade burial suit which was believed to protect dead bodies from decay. Crystal power In her book The Illustrated Guide to Crystals, astrologer and healer Judy Hall explained, "The crystalline structure of crystals means they can absorb, focus and transmit subtle electromagnetic energy, a quality that is used in crystal healing." Each crystal is said to have a certain vibration that helps unblock energy and restore balance in the body. This in turn allows for the smooth flow of other energies such as prosperity, health and love. When choosing crystals, whether you want to protect yourself in the coming Year of the Metal Tiger or simply for everyday life, you may find yourself drawn to some more than others because of their aesthetics. But a better way of selecting what to buy is to be aware of the meanings or benefits that each crystal brings. Decide what you want to have more of in your life --- abundance, health, love --- and pick the crystals that suit your needs. Abundance If you need more abundance, golden and green crystals are said to harness prosperous vibrations. Material wealth and money is often associated with the colors gold and green, but on the personal level, they are also said to represent self-esteem and growth.
Citrine, a yellow quartz, is associated with the warming and energizing properties of the sun. It is said to enhance self-confidence and boost personal power. It promotes clarity and has the ability to attract wealth and abundance for the wearer. Tiger’s Eye is a golden–dark brown quartz that helps the wearer manifest personal goals. Derived from the quality of the animal it is named after, Tiger’s Eye is believed to harness patience that helps the wearer discern what action is needed at the right moment. Peridot, a green gemstone, is considered a power stone. It promotes emotional balance and healing. It is also called the money stone that can attract abundance and opportunities. Health They are not the cure-all for emotional imbalance or physical ailments, but certain crystals are said to have calming and healing properties that help promote a person’s well-being.
Aventurine is a green stone with soothing qualities. It is considered an all-purpose healing stone that helps release emotional blockage and stress. Bloodstone is a mixed green and red stone that has calming properties. It is believed to be a detoxifying stone, especially for the kidneys and liver. It is also said to regulate blood flow in the body’s lower organs. Chrysocolla, also called the peace stone, has a beautiful deep blue green color. Aside from its calming properties, it is said to help lower blood sugar levels and ease various aches and pains. Love Do you need to find new love or get healed from an old one? Love crystals are said to help promote self–love as well as attract new love into your life.
Rose quartz, a popular translucent pink stone, promotes confidence and love for oneself. It helps to dissolve past heartaches and attract a nurturing and gentle kind of love. Ruby is considered the most powerful among the red stones. This pink–red stone is said to promote bliss and awaken passion, both physically and emotionally. Garnet is a red stone that promotes passionate devotion. It is said to bring out the best qualities of the wearer and make a person attractive to other people. It is also called a happy stone that helps increase one’s vitality. Inspiration and action Skeptics say crystals promote the placebo effect, as wearers tend to believe it works even if the results cannot be attributed to it. On the other hand, crystal enthusiasts attest to its various benefits and use them in every area of their life. While I cannot scientifically explain how my crystals work, I do believe both bracelets have helped me tune in to peace of mind and prosperity. My amethyst bracelet serves as a reminder for me to remain calm in difficult situations. My prosperity bracelet helps me remain confident during seeming financial difficulties, and to have faith in the abundance of the Universe. They serve my purpose, and every situation works out just fine. In the end, your beliefs will determine whether a charm or talisman will work for you. They do not give you the qualities you want. They simply serve as an inspiration, a symbol, or a reminder of the qualities you already possess that you can use to better your life. Whether it’s health, wealth, love or happiness, the power to create what you want lies not in the crystals, but in yourself. – YA, GMANews.TV
