Quisay rules ‘Run for your Heart’

Alley Quisay broke away in the last 50 meters to get back at old tormentor Kember Kimberes of Kenya and rule the premier 10K race of Sunday’s "Run for Your Heart" at the Quirino Grandstand. The 30-year-old Armyman from Bolinao, Pangasinan covered the distance in 31 minutes and 29 seconds to pocket the title and the P10,000 champion’s purse put up by the organizing Philippine Sports Commission and Filipino-Chinese Athletic Federation. Kimberes, who previously beat Quisay for the podium finish in last year’s Christmas Celebrity Run 21K event, was 23 seconds off the winner and settled for second this time. The 23-year-old Kenyan received P5,000. Finishing third was Alquin Bolivar also of Philippine Army with his 31:48 clocking, a placing worth P3,000.
