2 suspected robbers killed in Makati shootout - report


At least two of three members of a robbery-holdup gang were killed after engaging police in a shootout in Makati City Sunday night. Radio dzBB's Roland Bola reported early Monday the Makati police are now tracking down a third member of the gang who managed to escape during the firefight. The two slain suspects were not immediately identified but police described one of the slain suspects as 20 to 30 years old, 5'2" to 5'4" tall, and medium-built. Police described the second slain suspect as 40 to 50 years old, 5'4" to 5'6" tall, and slim. On the other hand, the third suspect was identified through a photo gallery as Reynaldo Macario. Initial investigation showed the suspects had taken the bag of one Redgie Alejal at Capinpin Street near South Superhighway in Makati City when a police patrol team chanced on them. The suspects sped off but allegedly fired at the pursuing patrol team, prompting the police to fire back. Police said the gang had victimized pedestrians and commuters in Makati City. - RSJ, GMANews.TV
