Fire razes 7 houses in Baseco Compound - report


Several families lost their homes after a fire of still undetermined origin razed seven houses in the Baseco Compound in Manila Thursday morning. Radio dzBB's Carlo Mateo reported that while no one was injured, some residents were distressed after they could not immediately find their children. Firefighters put out the fire at 10:14 a.m. The fire, which started at the house of one Jimmy Ramos, had reached the second alarm. On January 16, a child was reported to have died when fire hit the same compound. Three others were reported hurt in the incident.
