2 Air Force pilots die in Tarlac plane crash
Two Philippine Air Force pilots were killed Wednesday when their light aircraft crashed during training, a military spokesman said. Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) public information chief Lt. Col. Romeo Brawner said the two pilots died when the OV-10 Bronco aircraft they were using to conduct aerial gunnery training crashed at Crow Valley in Tarlac province at 2:55 p.m. Crow Valley is a gunnery and bombing field formerly under the supervision of the US. It is located in Camp O'Donell in the province, now used occasionally by the Philippine Air Force. Brawner refused to identify the fatalities pending notification of their families, adding that troops have been sent to recover the remains of the victims. The military has yet to determine the cause of plane crash as of posting time. Last month, eight soldiers, including an Air Force general, were killed when a military Nomad plane crashed in a residential area in Cotabato City. A civilian was also killed in the incident after she was pinned by a wall that collapsed due to the plane crash.
