2 killed in bus-motorcycle accident in Ilocos Sur

At least two people were killed after their motorcycle collided with a passenger bus in Ilocos Sur province Monday. Radio dzXL reported the victims were aboard a Honda Wave-type motorcycle when they collided with an RCJ bus along the national highway in Bantay town. Killed were Jeffrey Tabisula, 27, and Clifford Tabisula, 21. In critical condition was Reymund Talledo, 29, driver of the motorcycle. Bus driver Charlie Tulay, 49, surrendered to police immediately after the incident, but claimed the motorcycle was traveling too fast and went out of its lane. Tulay added he stepped on the brakes but it was too late because the motorcycle had already slammed into the bus. Police are also verifying witnesses' claims that Talledo was drunk when he was driving the motorcycle.—JMA/JV, GMANews.TV
