Edu Manzano to quit showbiz regardless of poll outcome

Actor Edu Manzano announced on Saturday that he will not be returning to the entertainment business, nor to his game show on the ABS-CBN network, should he not win the vice presidential race this May. "Hindi na siguro. (It's not likely.) I will be 55 this year. I am not looking forward to going back to showbiz," Manzano said in an interview on dzMM radio on Saturday. Aside from his onscreen career, Manzano also served as chairman of the Optical Media Board (OMB) from 2004 to 2009. 'I won't be returning' "Ngayon, I feel at this point in time na hindi ko na talaga babalikan ang showbiz. (Now, I feel at this point in time that I won't be returning to show business.) I will go back to private practice," Manzano said, declining to elaborate. Manzano also announced that he was not going back to hosting the noontime show Game KNB?, which he left late last year to pursue his bid for public office. 'There's still so much to do' "Hindi ko na siguro babalikan iyong Game KNB. Hindi na talaga, wala nang magbabago ang isip. Marami pa tayong magagawa sa buhay natin (I don't think I'll be going back to Game KNB. I really won't, and nothing can change my mind. There's still so much else to do)," Manzano said. On Friday, Manzano stressed that he was not backing out of the vice presidential race despite funding problems from Lakas-Kampi-CMD. 'Running to win' "I will continue my run and I [am running] to win," Manzano underscored. - TJD, GMANews.TV
