Cop shot dead in Cagayan – report

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya – A police officer was shot dead in northern Cagayan province Saturday night. Initial reports reaching the Philippine National Police’s regional office in Tuguegarao City, showed that SPO1 Wifredo Tesoro, a member of the Quirino provincial police force was shot dead by a lone gunman in Curva village’s sitio Carallan in Pamplona, Cagayan. Chief Superintendent Roberto Damian, police director for Cagayan Valley told GMANews.TV that Tesoro sustained gunshot wounds in his left thigh and forehead. Elements from the PNP Cagayan’s Maneuver Platoon led by Police Inspector Clarence Labasan, recovered two spent cal. 45 shells at the crime scene.
