Cold front brings drizzle to parts of Rizal province

A tail-end of a cold front brought some relief to residents of some areas in Rizal province on Wednesday, but state weather forecasters stressed the weather condition is just temporary. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the cold front is not likely to last long, meaning hot days lie ahead. "Sa mga susunod na araw mawawala siya, so babalik tayo sa mainit na panahon (In the next few days, it will be gone. So we will return to the hot days)," Pagasa forecaster Rene Paciente said in an interview aired on dzBB radio early Thursday. According to the dzBB report, light rainshowers fell Wednesday afternoon over parts of Cainta town and Antipolo City. The highest temperature experienced in Metro Manila Wednesday was at 33.5 degrees Celsius, the report added. Pagasa's 5 p.m. Wednesday extended forecast indicated a cold front is affecting Northern Luzon and eastern sections of Luzon and the Visayas. According to the extended weather forecast, maximum temperatures in Metro Manila may go up to 35 degrees on Saturday and Sunday. It said Northern Luzon and Eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas should expect mostly cloudy skies with light rains, while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Moderate or strong winds from the northeast will also prevail over Luzon, Visayas and Eastern Mindanao and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. — LBG, GMANews.TV
