Arroyo declares May 10 a special non-working holiday

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has declared May 10, 2010 — the date of the elections — as a special non-working holiday. The declaration was contained in Proclamation 2020, which was announced on Thursday, two months before the Philippines holds the first-ever nationwide automated elections. The polls will also be held to replace the successor of Arroyo, the longest-serving President since the late president Ferdinand Marcos. - RJAB Jr., GMANews.TV
