PAGASA: ‘Agaton’ moves away from RP
A day after entering Philippine territory, tropical storm "Agaton" (international code name Omais) started moving away from the country Thursday night. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said "Agaton" maintained its strength as it moved away from the Philippines. In its 11 p.m. advisory, PAGASA said "Agaton" was about 820 km east-northeast of Virac, Catanduanes as of 10 p.m. "Agaton" packed maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It was moving north-northeast at 11 kph and is expected to be 1,000 km east-northeast of Virac, Catanduanes or 1,140 kms east-northeast of Aparri, Cagayan Friday evening. By Saturday evening it is expected to be 1,250 km east-northeast of Aparri, Cagayan. No public storm warning signals were raised. - KBK, GMANews.TV
