Fire razes 12 houses in Manila

At least 12 houses were razed in an early-morning fire that hit a residential area in Manila’s Sampaloc district Saturday. Radio dzBB’s Carlo Mateo reported no one was reported hurt in the fire, which started at the second floor of a house occupied by Rosalie Cortilla at 517 Cristobal Street in Sampaloc. The fire started at 6:13 a.m. and reached the second alarm before it was placed under control shortly after 7 a.m. Traffic near the area was snarled as firefighters and fire volunteers tried to get to the scene quickly. — LBG, GMANews.TV
