DLSU student tops 564 new mechanical engineers


A total of 564 graduates passed the Mechanical Engineer Licensure Examination given by the Board of Engineering this month, with a student from the De la salle University-Manila topping the list, the Professional Regulation Commission announced Monday. (See complete list here.) Michael Raz Ochoa of the DLSU-Taft ranked first with 93.10 percent, followed by Richard Louie Sanchez Macapagal of University of the East-Caloocan with 92.50 percent. Placing third and fourth are Ronald Yee Dy (90.50 percent) and Josue Robertson Samonte Reyes (89.10), who are both from the DLSU-Taft. Felix Manlapao Zaulda Jr. from Mindanao State University in General Santos City secured the fifth position with 88.50 percent. Completing the top 10 list were: 6. Nico Deus Ochoa Villafranca of Mapua Institute of Technology (88.05 percent) 7. Marco Antonio Cariaga Sunico of the University of the Philippines-Diliman (87.95 percent) 8. Paul Bryan Castor Amagon of UP-Diliman (87.40 percent) 9. Anthony Bayawa Durano of the University of San Carlos (87.15 percent) 10. Noelizza Adia de Leon UP-Diliman (86.65 percent) At the same time, PRC said 28 hopefuls passed the professional mechanical engineer licensure exam, while nine passed the certified plant mechanic board exam. Registration for the issuance of professional identification card (ID) and Certificate of Registration for the new mechanical engineers will be from April 5, 2010 to April 21, 2010. Those who will register are required to bring the following: * Accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, * Current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), * Two (2) pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag), * One (1) piece 1" x 1" picture (colored with white background and complete name tag), * Two (2) sets of metered documentary stamps, and * One (1) short brown envelope with name and profession; Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals, the PRC said. Registrants are likewise required to pay the initial registration fee of P600 and annual registration fee of P450 for the years 2010 to 2013. New certified plant mechanics are also required to pay the initial registration fee of P450 and annual registration fee of P420 for they 2010-2013. Meanwhile, the oath-taking ceremony of the successful mechanical engineer examinees and those who have not taken their Oath of Professional will be held on April 28, 2010 at the Fiesta Pavilion, Manila Hotel, One Rizal Park, Manila. - Aie Balagtas See/KBK, GMANews.TV
