5 people killed in Tarlac road smashup — report

Five people were killed while two were injured after a van collided with a 40-foot container van in Tarlac City Monday afternoon. Radio dzBB reported the vehicles involved in the collision were an Isuzu Forward truck (RET-764) and a 40-foot container van (NUR-835). Killed were Patricio Bongay, Renato Loreto and Eddie Belo of the Forward truck; and Melchor Rocas and Joey Gindap of the 40-foot container van. Injured were Apple Entolasco and Rommel Morales. Initial investigation showed the Forward truck had tried to overtake other vehicles and failed to return to its lane in time, and collided with the container van. — LBG, GMANews.TV
