67-yr-old graduates from high school in Iloilo

A 67-year-old woman became one of the most senior members of Batch 2010 after she earned her diploma in an Iloilo high school Monday. Radio dzXL reported on Tuesday that Julieta Diaz fulfilled her dream of finishing her high school studies after seeing her children become professionals first. Diaz was one of the graduates who received their diplomas at Lapayon National High School (LNHS) in Leganes town in Iloilo province. She enrolled at the LNHS after she passed the Philippine Education Placement Test (PEPT). Mrs. Diaz said she wanted to prove that age is not a barrier for finishing one’s studies. She said she was forced to stop schooling at Grade IV and work at an early age because of poverty, but she decided to finish her studies after getting a chance to do so. — LBG, GMANews.TV
