Half-day work for govt employees on Holy Wednesday

Government employees will be allowed to go home early from work on Holy Wednesday to prepare for their Holy Week activities and travel. Deputy presidential spokesman Ricardo Saludo said President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Tuesday approved the half-day work for government employees. Malacañang has already declared April 3 (Black Saturday) as special non-working holiday throughout the country.
