PAGASA: Sunny Easter Sunday, hot week ahead


People in Metro Manila can look forward to a sunny Easter Sunday, but may have to brace for even warmer days, with temperatures possibly hitting 36 degrees Celsius this coming week. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Metro Manila weather will be sunny with partly cloudy skies this weekend. On the other hand, PAGASA also said a wind convergence was affecting Mindanao, even as isolated rainshowers were expected in other parts of the country. "Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy except for isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly over the eastern section," it said in its 5 a.m. bulletin for Saturday. In its extended weather forecast Saturday, PAGASA said the temperature in Metro Manila may range from 24 to 36 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, April 7. On the other hand, Tuguegarao City in Cagayan province was forecast to have 36-degree weather Saturday. Temperatures in Baguio City will range from 15 to 26 degrees during the Easter weekend, and from 20 to 28 degrees in Tagaytay City. Meanwhile, PAGASA said , moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over the eastern sections of southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas. —LBG, GMANews.TV
