After two days of relative quiet, the streets of downtown Manila slowly returned to life as vendors resumed their trade Saturday. While some vendors aggressively vend religious items outside the church in Quiapo, others resumed selling their usual wares ranging from clothes to food items. Even vendors of pirated movie discs began to display their wares along busy Carriedo Street, no longer playing "Jesus of Nazareth" and Christ-themed movies. One of the DVD vendors even displayed a video of the dancing inmates of Cebu. Still, many stores in the city remained closed for the day. Black Saturday is considered a special non-working day where employees are entitled to extra pay if they report for work. —LBG, GMANews.TV
