Semana Santa gamiting gabay sa pagpili ng susunod na lider – Rosales

MANILA – Kasabay ng paggunita ngayong Semana Santa, hinikayat ni Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales nitong Sabado ang mga Pilipino na piliing mabuti ang mga susunod na lider ng bansa. Sa kanyang Easter message, sinabi ni Rosales na hindi dapat maging “business as usual" ang isipan ng mga Pilipino pagkatapos ng “muling pagkabuhay" ni Kristo. Aniya, mas nararapat na maging inspirasyon ito sa tamang pagpili ng mga iboboto sa darating na halalan sa Mayo. "How beautiful is the coincidence that Easter always precedes a National Election because the lessons of the Resurrection lead to new life and a new encouraging service. Discern with prayerful judgment as to who the nation should entrust with the task of new and inspiring honest leadership that leads to unity and peace," mensahe ng arsobispo na makikita sa website ng Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines. “The triumph of Christ over sin and the evils that humans learned and still continue to do, and over death itself, means that after the Resurrection, it can never be business as usual," idinagdag niya. Binigyan-diin ni Rosales na ang pagkabuhay na muli ni Kristo ay pagpapahayag ng pagbabago - sa pag-uugali, pagmamahal, at paglilingkod - patungo sa kapayapaan. "After the Resurrection no more shall there be compromising with deceit, dishonesty, and the worship of money and power," paalala niya. Una rito, nanawagan din si CBCP president Tandag Bishop Nereo Odchimar sa mamamayan na huwag mawalan ng pag-asa sa kabila ng mga pangamba ng dayaan sa halalan, patuloy na patayan at kahirapan sa bansa. "Electoral processes are manipulated by some influential politicians. Suffrage is curtailed by vote-buying-and-selling, various forms of threat, and erratic understanding of ‘utang na loob,’" ayon kay Odchimar sa kanyang Easter message. — GMANews.TV
