BUTUAN CITY ― The military captured a suspected New People’s Army member following an encounter with communist rebels in Agusan del Sur last Thursday, a local police report said. The police’s Region 13 office identified him Jomar Silaw Domo, a resident of Sibagat town and a suspected member of the NPA’s Northern Mindanao Regional Committee. An M-16 rifle was also found in his possession. About 15 members of Domo’s group clashed with the Army’s 26th Infantry Battalion in the village of Calaitan in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur.
