PAGASA to public: Brace for hotter days ahead

State weather forecaster has advised the public to brace for hotter days ahead as temperatures are on an upward trend. "Medyo pataas ng pataas ang temperatura natin (We can expect temperatures to go higher and higher)," Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecaster Buddy Javier said in an interview on dzBB radio on Tuesday. He said temperatures in Metro Manila will likely go up to 35 degrees Celsius this Tuesday. PAGASA's extended forecast indicated that temperatures in Metro Manila may go up to 36˚C on Wednesday and Saturday. It added that temperatures in Tuguegarao City may go up to 37˚C on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Temperatures in Baguio City, the nation's summer capital, are expected to be cooler, ranging between 16 and 28˚C until Saturday. Meanwhile, PAGASA's 5 a.m. bulletin indicated a wind convergence that may cause scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in Mindanao and Eastern Visayas. "Mindanao and the Eastern Visayas will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies except for some isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly over the eastern section," it said. Coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate, it said. — LBG, GMANews.TV
