Report: Soldier killed in bus holdup in Cotabato

A soldier was killed while a civilian was injured after unidentified armed men held up passengers of a bus in Cotabato province. Radio dzXL cited initial reports identifying the fatality as Sgt. Arnold Berano, and the wounded civilian as Ramil Gemasalle. The incident occurred while the bus was passing Dalingaoen village in Pikit town, when the suspects armed with firearms and a fragmentation grenade announced a holdup. After divesting the passengers of their valuables, they shot Berano after seeing his identification card indicating he is a soldier.
