Report: Armed men attack mayoral bet's convoy in Isabela

A campaign sortie almost turned deadly for a mayoral bet in Isabela province after armed men ambushed his convoy and strafed his vehicle. Radio dzXL reported Tuesday the incident occurred in Cordon town’s Capirpiriwan village, where candidate Amado Vallejo had campaigned. Initial investigation showed Vallejo's party was crossing the village when armed men ambushed them and opened fire. No one was reported hurt as the gunmen fled right away after the attack.
