Loren plans to cover more ground during campaign's last three weeks

With only three weeks left in the campaign period, vice presidential bet Senator Loren Legarda — who still is lagging in surveys —will seek to "cover more ground" to ensure her victory in the May polls. "Kung maaari ko lang hati-hatiin ang aking katawan, kung meron lang akong mga look-alike, may ibang Loren Legardang mangnangampanya sa akin, kung meron lang akong 10 kapatid na babae, kaya lang only girl ako, kung nabubuhay lang ang aking ina na na mangangampanya sa akin," the senator, candidate of Nationalist People's Coalition and Nacionalista Party, told reporters when asked on her campaign strategy. (If I can only split my body into multiple parts, if only I had a look-alike, if only there was a different Loren Legarda campaigning for me, if I had ten sisters, but I’m the only girl in the family, if only my mother was alive now to campaign for me.) Legarda, who topped the senatorial race twice, said she is no longer a believer of surveys. "Hindi na kami maniniwala sa survey dahil ang survey naman na ‘yan, pinapa-commission lang ng ibang mga grupo and I admit, I’m not a subscriber to any survey," she said. In the recent surveys, the senator continues to lag behind Liberal Party vice presidential bet Manuel Roxas II. Legarda said she is just focusing on her objective which is "victory, not just for our team, but victory for the Filipino people" adding only the Villar-Legarda tandem has a concrete platform for the people. "Whether I am high, I am low, I am up or I am whatever position, what matters is the people’s trust and confidence. What matters is what we see on the ground, what matters is the pulse of the people," she said. The senator believed that if she will be able to cover more areas, she will be able to convert more people to vote for her. On Tuesday, Legarda visited Divisoria in Manila and held a motorcade with NPC mayoralty bet Avelino Razon. She proceeded to San Andres, Manila and had another motorcade with reelectionist Rep Joey Hizon. The senator also visited Paranaque City, Las Piñas, and Muntinlupa City. - RJAB Jr., GMANews.TV
