4 killed in tribal war in Davao Norte — NDCC

At least four lumads (indigenous people) were reported killed in a series of tribal wars since last week in Davao del Norte province. The National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) said the fighting also caused 70 families or 350 people to be evacuated to shelters in Lasang River. "Since April 17 ... a 'Pangayao' (tribal war) incident occurred among indigenous people in Sitios Menopal and Banoog, Barangay Palma Gil and Sitio Basak, Barangay Santo Niño, Talaingod, Davao del Norte. A total of four lumads were among the casualties in said incident," the NDCC said Friday night. It did not immediately identify the casualties. The NDCC added the Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council of Davao del Norte and the Philippine National Red Cross are now conducting relief operations. — LBG, GMANews.TV
