Ginobili says he will not play for Argentina at worlds
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina — Manu Ginobili says he will not play for his native Argentina this summer in the world championship in Turkey. In an article Friday in Argentine newspaper "La Nacion," the San Antonio Spurs star said it was better for his family and himself that he skipped the tournament. He said he wants to spend time with his wife, who is expecting to give birth to twins next month. He also said his body needed some rest. He said he would play in Argentina's pre-Olympic qualification matches and in the 2012 Olympics in London. Ginobili's resurgence since the All-Star break helped the Spurs clinch a playoff spot. They hold a 2-1 series lead against the Dallas Mavericks after a 94-90 Game 3 win. The worlds start on Aug. 28. – AP
