Report: 3 killed, 58 hurt in Bataan road accident

Three people were killed while 58 others were injured early Sunday when the tourist bus they were riding went out of control and slammed into a tree in Bataan province, a radio report said. Radio dzXL said the incident occurred at about 6:30 a.m. at a sharp curve along Governor Linao Avenue in Binukawan village in Bagac town in Bataan.

It said the tourist bus (TXZ-508) came from Quezon City and was heading for a beach resort. Killed were Enriquez Gaborni, 52; Nelly Alburo; and Juveneill Conel, 60. The injured were rushed to the Bataan General Hospital. Police are now looking for bus driver Sonny Ricafort, who fled after the accident. Investigators suspected that Ricafort may have been speeding while negotiating a sharp curve and had failed to step on the brake in time to avoid the tree. – KBK, GMANews.TV
