Jailed Danilo Lim, Ariel Querubin say thanks to Guardians for support

They may be in detention but resigned General Danilo Lim and Colonel Ariel Querubin were still able to address and express gratitude to a group of Guardians who endorsed their respective candidacies Friday evening. Lim and Querubin, running for senator under Liberal Party and Nacionalista Party, respectively, were able to talk with the members of Guardians Brotherhood Inc. through a phone patch during their National Founders Congress at Great Eastern Hotel in Quezon City. Lim is detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center while Querubin is at the detention center of Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. They were not supposed to have an access to cellular phone inside their cell. In his message, Lim asked for GBI's support for him and their colleagues seeking elected posts. Lim and Querubin lamented that those who have grave sins against the people were free and enjoying life while those innocent like them were incarcerated. "Umaasa ako na ang mga inosente ay mapapawalangsala at ang mga tiwali will be held responsible (I remain hopeful that the innocent will be cleared and that the corrupt will be held responsible)," Lim said. "Darating ang panahon na lalabas ako dito at personal ko kayong mapapasalamatan. (Time will come when I will be able to leave my cell and thank you all personally.)" - RJAB Jr., GMANews.TV
