Quiboloy to reveal presidential pick during group’s Sunday concert

Religious leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy is set to reveal on Sunday his pick among the nine presidential candidates in a concert poised to attract 50,000 of his followers from Mindanao, a statement from Quiboloy’s group said Saturday. The statement said Quiboloy, considered by his followers from the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) as the “appointed son of God," has been having “sleepless nights praying to the Father for a clear and direct answer." Quiboloy will gather in Davao City on Sunday an estimated 50,000 KJC members from all over Mindanao in a thanksgiving concert—the group’s “biggest outdoor worship presentation," according to the statement. In the same gathering, the religious leader will also call for a smooth transition of power, saying he received “visions" that made him a little fearful. “I don’t want to be an alarmist, but I also don’t want to be blamed for not airing my fears sooner," Quiboloy said in the statement. Quiboloy’s congregation boasts of six million followers from all over the world, and has an estimated three million registered voters for the upcoming polls, according to the statement. In turning its vast membership base into a strong electoral clout, the KJC has closely followed the success story of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC). According to the Wikipedia, pollsters estimate that the INC can deliver between 1 and 1.5 million votes. —JV, GMANews.TV
