Kris on Noynoy's detractors: I want to stab them

Television personality Kris Aquino cried foul over what she called as below-the-belt propaganda against her brother, Sen. Benigno “Noynoy" Aquino III, the leading presidential candidate in the May 10 elections. “Galit ako sa kanila. Gusto ko silang saksakin (I am mad at them. I want to stab them)," Kris said of her brother’s detractors in an interview aired over QTV’s “Balitanghali" on Sunday. The outspoken actress did not identify anyone in particular, but she was referring to the personalities accusing Noynoy of having an unsound mind. At least two supposed psychiatric reports on Noynoy had been recently circulated on the Internet by unknown groups, but both were proven forged. The latest report said Noynoy suffered from depression in 1979.

Kris and Noynoy are children of the late President Corazon “Cory" Aquino and slain Sen. Benigno “Ninoy" Aquino Jr. In the interview, Kris also belied the claim of Philippine Star columnist Carmen Pedrosa who, citing second-hand information, said the elder Aquino asked a certain Dr. Steve Aguilar to examine Noynoy when their family was in Boston from 1980 to 1983. “Hindi ganoon ang pagkaka-kilala ko sa tatay ko. Hindi ganoon ang naging relasyon ni Ninoy Aquino at Noynoy Aquino (That was not how I knew my father. That was not the kind of relationship between Ninoy Aquino and Noynoy Aquino)," she said. Pedrosa belongs to the newly-formed Citizens for the Right to Information, which is calling on Noynoy to release his medical history or undergo a psychiatric test. Noynoy refused to dignify the group’s request, saying the burden of proof is not on him. "Niyurakan ang pagkatao ko, tapos ako ang kailangang magpaliwanag, ako ang kailangang magpatunay na iyong false ay false talaga (It was I who was maligned, and yet they are asking me to explain and show proof that what is false is indeed false)," he said at a campaign sortie in La Union last Saturday. Noynoy’s party, the Liberal Party (LP), has blamed the Manny Villar Jr.-led Nacionalista Party (NP), as the group behind the fake psychiatric reports.
