PAGASA: Brace for sunny, humid Election Day

Filipino voters can expect sunny but humid weather when they cast their votes this coming Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Saturday. But PAGASA, in a special weather outlook for the election period, also warned of isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening. "The ridge of the North Pacific high pressure area will continue to dominate the weather situation in Luzon and will bring generally sunny but humid conditions with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening," it said. It added scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms associated with the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will be experienced in Visayas and Mindanao. But it also warned of widespread rains expected over the eastern sections of these areas on Monday. PAGASA's extended weather forecast for Monday showed Metro Manila may experience temperatures ranging from 26 to 36 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in Tuguegarao City may be hotter, at 24 to 37 degrees. — LBG, GMANews.TV
