Arroyo first to cast vote at polling precinct 0001-A in Lubao

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was first to cast vote at Precinct 0001-A at the Lubao Central Elementary School in Pampanga province, a television report said Monday. GMA Network's live coverage showed President Arroyo arriving early at the polling center, together with eldest son, Rep. Juan Miguel "Mikey" Arroyo. Before casting her vote, Mrs. Arroyo, clad in a blue-colored sleeveless blouse and black pants, attended a "private" predawn Mass at the San Agustin Parish Church, accompanied only by her escorts from the Presidential Security Group and some staff members.

The President was voter number 64 in the 160 voters listed in precinct number 0001-A, with Mikey being voter number 7. In the same precinct were Mrs. Arroyo's sister Ma. Cielo Macapagal Salgado (number 130) and relatives Diosdado Martin Macapagal Salgado (number 129), and Maria Mercedes Macapagal Salgado (number 131). Mrs. Arroyo is running for a congressional post in Pampanga's second legislative district, aiming to succeed her son Mikey. On the other hand, Mikey is the first nominee of Ang Galing Pinoy party-list group. President Arroyo was expected to return to Malacañang in Manila after casting her vote. — LBG/RSJ, GMANews.TV
