Manny Pacquiao votes in Sarangani province
Filipino boxing sensation Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao arrived past 7 a.m. to cast his vote at a precinct in Sarangani province where he is seeking a seat in the House of Representatives. According to GMA Network's Jay Taruc, Pacquiao was scheduled to arrive at the opening of polling precinct number 004B at the Kiambao Central Elementary School, but he came in minutes behind schedule due to some delays along the way. The report added that the boxing hero was voter 121.
Pacquiao is not from Sarangani, which is the home province of his wife Jinkie. His running for a congressional seat in Sarangi is Pacquaio's second bout in the electoral arena. He lost in 2007 to Rep. Darlene Custodio when they fought for a seat in the first district of South Cotabato and Gen. Santos City. Custodio gained national fame for defeating the seven-division world champion boxing idol in that election. — LBG/RSJ, GMANews.TV
