Mayoral bet’s supporter shot dead in Palawan

Four hours before the elections opened on Monday, a supporter of a mayoral bet in Brooke’s Point Town in Palawan was killed in an armed encounter with alleged supporters of a rival candidate. In a phone interview with GMANews.TV, Brooke’s Point police head Chief Inspector Silverio Basa said a certain Alibasa Mucsan was shot dead around 3 a.m. in the village of Salogon. Wounded in the incident was one Roger Moga. Mucsan and Moga are supporters of mayoral bet Isnain Pesingan. Basa added they are still identifying whether the suspects are supporters of Tonton Quitain, Pesingan’s rival.
