After four hours in line, Aquino finally votes

TARLAC CITY — After waiting for over four hours, leading presidential aspirant Senator Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III finally got to cast his ballot in his home province of Tarlac. Aquino arrived at the Central Azucarrera de Tarlac Elementary School about 15 minutes before 10 a.m., but he found a long queue awaiting him because the Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machine in his polling precinct shut down. Accompanied by his sisters Ballsy Aquino-Cruz and Pinky Aquino-Abellada and some of his nephews, Aquino joined the long line of voters eager to participate in the country's first nationwide automated elections.

Aquino was able to enter the precinct only a couple of minutes before 2 p.m. Aquino said he did not mind waiting in line for four hours in the scorching heat. "Ang gustong mamuno kailangan maging mahusay na tagapagsunod. Di pwedeng maglilingkod sa taumbayan na sila lang nahirapan kayo hindi (Whoever wants to lead must also be a good follower. You cannot serve the country when only others are having a hard time)," he said. — Johanna Camille Sisante/RSJ/KBK, GMANews.TV
