'Preprogrammed' compact flash cards got me fewer votes, Jamby says

Independent presidential candidate Senator Maria Ana Consuelo “Jamby" Madrigal said on Friday that “preprogrammed" compact flash (CF) cards might have caused her to get fewer votes than disqualified presidential aspirant Vetellano Acosta. “These flash cards may have been preprogrammed. Paanong mangyayaring mas marami pang boto sa amin nina Nick [Nicanor Perlas] at JC [John Carlos delos Reyes] si Acosta?" Madrigal told GMANews.TV in a phone interview. GMA News’ partial, unofficial tally of votes shows Madrigal, Perlas and Delos Reyes trailing behind Acosta in the presidential poll results. Madrigal likewise said that even Nacionalista Party standard-bearer Sen. Manuel Villar Jr., who she openly criticized in the past, might have been a victim of these “preprogrammed" flash cards. “Kahit pa kalaban ko si Villar, lahat kami ang gusto ay malaman ang tunay naming boto," the senator said. Madrigal said the CF cards, which had to be pulled out and reconfigured days before polls after inaccurately reading votes, might have been programmed to read more votes for certain candidates, whom she did not identify. She added that in Montalban town in Rizal, a certain candidate she did not name got 99 percent of the votes. “That’s impossible. There must be really something wrong," she said. Madrigal said she, Perlas, delos Reyes and Bro. Eddie Villanueva will come up with a collated report of these poll result discrepancies which they will release in press conference on Tuesday. The four presidential candidates earlier united to question the results of the country’s first nationwide automated polls, which they said were marred by “irregularities." - RJAB Jr., GMANews.TV
