1 killed, 2 hurt in North Cotabato road collision

MAKILALA, North Cotabato — A driver of the truck died while his helper was seriously wounded when their vehicle collided with an oil tanker here Friday afternoon, a traffic officer said Saturday. The driver of the oil tanker was also hurt in the smashup. PO3 Mayolito Pasion, Makilala Philippine National Police Traffic Division chief, identified the fatality as Marvin Dasmariñas, and those hurt were Leo Julius Dumas and Christobal Bohol. Passersby at the crash scene immediately rushed the victims to the nearby Makilala Medical Specialist Center, Pasion said. According to him, both vehicles were cruising on opposite lanes of Makilala-Bansalan highway when the Fuso Canter lost its brake and bump the oil tanker in the other lane.
