Japanese national stabbed dead in Zambo City

A 70-year-old Japanese national was found stabbed dead inside his rented house in Zamboanga City over the weekend, even as police invited his Filipina helper to shed light on the killing. Radio dzXL reported that the victim, initially identified as Tokio Miyake, 70, bore stab wounds in different parts of the body, which was found in Poste Drive, Km. 4, Barangay Pasonanca. Police investigators are trying to get leads on the killing from Anayn Abejeri, the victim’s Filipino helper. A separate news report by the Mindanao Examiner said Miyake was from Osaka City but had lived several years in Zamboanga City with his Filipino family. Sketchy initial reports indicated two men stabbed Miyake in his room on Friday. Police are looking into an attempted burglary as the motive.—JV, GMANews.TV
