4,000 homeless, two dead in Muntinlupa fires

About 4,000 people were left homeless while two others were killed in two separate fires in Muntinlupa City. Muntinlupa Mayor Aldrin San Pedro said Sunday the first fire torched down a residential area in Barangay Cupang before dawn Saturday. The blaze, which reached general alarm, started past 4 a.m. and lasted for more than two hours. About 1,000 families or more than 4,000 people lost their homes. “The city government’s assistance continues. We’re providing them with the basic necessities. Tomorrow, we will give them construction materials so they can rebuild their homes," San Pedro said in a phone interview with GMANews.TV.
