Superal bags jungolf crown in India


Reed-thin Princess Superal came up with a huge game in the final round, shooting a one-under-par 71 to close out with a victory in the girls' Class B division in the 31st Asia-Pacific Junior Golf Championships held at the Eagleton Golf Resort in Bangalore, India. Superal, the 14-year-old standout of Orchard Golf, carded rounds of 73 and 74 in the first two days to wound up with a 218 for a three-shot win against Thai Pinrath Loombunruang (221) in the 54-hole competition. It was her first major international triumph. Other Filipina amateurs who played under the banner of the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines (JGFP) were Andie Unson, who placed eighth, Sarah Ababa (15th) and Marvi Monsalve (21st). – JVP/RCJ/Adrian Flores, GMANews.TV
