Fires hit Manila and Quezon City


Fires of undetermined origin razed residential areas in Fairview in Quezon City and in Sta. Mesa in Manila early Saturday. A report on dzXL radio said the first fire razed a three-story residential building in Greater Fairview village in Quezon City. The fire started at 12:05 a.m. and reached the fourth alarm before it was placed under control after an hour. On the other hand, a report on dzRH radio said the second fire, in Manila's Sta. Mesa district, started past 6 a.m. and reached the third alarm before it was eventually placed under control.

Firefighters found the roads leading to the fire clogged as residents tried to save their belongings. The fire along Lubiran Street in the Bacood area in Sta. Mesa was located near a warehouse. There was no initial report of injury in both fires. — LBG, GMANews.TV
