Fire hits Rizal town's public market

Fire of undetermined origin razed parts of the public market in Taytay town in Rizal province shortly after midnight Wednesday. A report on dzBB radio early Thursday said the fire reached the fifth alarm before firefighters placed it under control at 1:30 a.m. While no one was initially reported injured in the fire, several looters were mauled after they were caught stealing cell phones from some of the stalls, the report said.
