LPA triggers Thursday rains in parts of Metro Manila — PAGASA

Rains triggered by a low-pressure area (LPA) off the northwest part of Luzon fell on some parts of Metro Manila Thursday morning, the state weather bureau said. For the second time this week, Metro Manila experienced isolated rain showers, particularly in parts of Pasay City. In an interview on dzBB, Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather forecaster Rene Paciente said that despite the rains, the rainy season has not set in yet.
On the other hand, GMA's Flash Report said heavy rains that lasted for about half an hour were experienced in parts of Cainta and Taytay towns is Rizal province. "Ito [LPA] ang nagpapaulan sa west and north (It caused rains in parts of north and western Luzon)," Paciente told dzBB, adding the weather disturbance 550 km west of Northern Luzon has little chance of becoming a tropical cyclone. – LBG/RSJ, GAMNews.TV
