New set of COCs, ERs arrive at Batasan Pambansa
A new set of certificates of canvass (COCs) and election returns (ERs), including those of absentee votes from eight countries, arrived Thursday at the Batasan Pambansa complex in Quezon City where a joint session of Congress will canvass votes for president and vice president. Contained in 23 ballot boxes, the COCs and ERs were transported from the Senate in Pasay City and arrived at the Batasan complex at 12:10 p.m. The House of Representatives is located inside the complex. Most of the COCs and ERs came from the overseas absentee voting held in Mexico, Panama, Iran, Venezuela, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. The newly transported ballot boxes will now be added with some 200 other COCs that Congress will canvass. Included in the 23 ballot boxes delivered to the House were those that came from Western Samar, San Juan City and South Cotabato. The joint session was to resume later in the afternoon. — Mark Merueñas/RSJ/LBG, GMANews.TV
