Walk-ins at Noynoy's residence increase, seek more than just jobs

Walk-in job applicants showing up in front of president-apparent Sen. Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Aquino III's Quezon City residence are growing in number — and this time, they are asking for more than just jobs. On Friday, three walk-in applicants went to Aquino's house to ask for money to buy school supplies for their children. "Nung eleksyon, siya ang lumalapit sa amin. Ngayon ang hirap," one of them told Aquino's security and staff after they were told Aquino could not give money or see them personally. (During the campaign, he was the one wooing us. Now it is so hard to get his attention.) Although they also expressed interest in getting jobs, they grumbled when told they had to write a formal application letter. They even sat at the area in front of the gate supposedly to wait for Aquino, whose aides, in turn, gave them bottled water. On the other hand, a woman wearing an orange shirt showed up and went straight to the security personnel, and asked for "one minute" with Aquino. "One minute lang, one minute lang," the woman said when reporters asked her what she wanted. (I just want one minute with him.) Walk-in applicants began showing up at Aquino's house since he opened a wide lead over his rivals in the presidential race. - RJAB Jr., GMANews.TV
