At least 35,000 people were affected by flash floods in Sultan Kudarat town in Maguindanao province last Wednesday. In a report, the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) said Friday the flash floods also destroyed at least 15 houses. The NDCC, in a report posted on its website Friday night, said the floods affected the villages of Bulalo, Salimbao, Limbo, Gang, Calsada, Banubo, Katuli, Macaguiling, Mulaog and Senditan. Also damaged were an 840-meter span and 7.5-km span of farm-to-market road, and 24 hectares of farmland. Portions of the national highway in Salimbao were flooded, but are now passable to vehicles.
